Zelle is a peer-to-peer mobile payment application to send and receive money from friends, family and other people you know and trust from one bank account to another. Zelle is owned by Early Warning Services, a financial technology (fintech) owned by seven major banks: Bank of America, Capital One, JPMorgan Chase, PNC Bank, Truist, U.S. Bank, and Wells Fargo.

When you enroll with Zelle from your bank there will be a connection between your email address or U.S. mobile phone number and your eligible bank checking or savings account. With the zelle app you can send money to almost anyone with an eligible U.S.-based bank account using their email address or U.S. mobile phone number.

Unlike other money transfer app such as Venmo, PayPal, and Cash App, Zelle does not charge an extra fee for an instant transfer. After you’ve enrolled, simply add your recipient’s email address or U.S. mobile number, the amount you’d like to send or request, review and add a memo, and hit “confirm.

How to enroll with the Zelle

To enroll or register with the Zelle App, kindly , enter your basic contact information, an email address and U.S. mobile number, and a Visa® or Mastercard® debit card with a U.S. based account

 

How Zelle Works

If you enroll through the Zelle app or through your banking app, add your recipient’s email address or U.S. mobile number, the amount you’d like to send or request. Once done Your recipient will be notified by email or text message with the details of your payment and instructions on how to enroll to receive the money if action is necessary.

However, If your recipient is not enrolled with Zelle®, they’ll need to enroll to receive money. They will have fourteen (14) days to complete their one-time enrollment using the same email address or U.S. mobile number you used to send them the payment

But If your recipient does not enroll with Zelle® within 14 days, the money will be returned back to your account.

 

How to send money with Zelle

Follow these steps to Send money with Zelle®:

1. Go to Send money with Zelle® under Transfer and Pay in the main menu.
2.Add or select recipient by selecting the “ + ” icon at the upper right of your screen and enter your recipient’s information.
3.Enter the amount you want to send and choose an account to fund your payment.
4.Review the details of your payment before you send it.
5.Once set, Your recipient will be notified by email or text message with the details of your payment

How to receive money with zelle

To receive money with zelle, you must enroll an email address or U.S. mobile number with Zelle.Once enrolled, provide that email address or U.S. mobile number to the person sending you money. They can use it to send you money,through another Zelle® participating financial institution, or the separate Zelle® app.

When someone sends you money, you’ll be notified by email or text message. The money will be automatically directed into the account you’ve linked to your Zelle® profile as your deposit account.

 

Does Zelle charge a fee?

Zelle does not charge a fee for sending or receiving funds. Some banks or credit unions may charge for this service. You should confirm with your financial institution whether or not it charges for Zelle’s service.

 

What Is Zelle’s Transfer Limit

If your bank or credit union offers Zelle®, please contact them directly to learn more about their sending limits through Zelle®. but If your bank or credit union does not yet offer Zelle®, your weekly send limit is $500 in the Zelle® app. Please note that you cannot request to increase or decrease your send limit.
