The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) has named Catalan giants Barcelona to beat the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to become the best club of the past decade.
The award is nothing for Barça as they were deemed to be the best club in the decade 2001-10 and also the club of the year in 2011,2021 and 2015.
Before coming up with these rankings, IFFHS usually takes into account the number of points claimed by a team in domestic competitions, as well as their performances in the European competitions.
the blaugranes were ranked with 2,877 points with rival Real Madrid second on 2,782 with German giants Bayern Munich completing the top three with a points tally of 2,594.5.
During the second decade of the millennium, Barcelona won a total of 22 trophies. Their honours included six league titles, five Copa del Rey titles, two Champions Leagues titles, two UEFA Super Cups, two Club World Cups and five Spanish Super Cups.
Ligue 1 giants PSG came in fourth place while Atletico Madrid grabbed the fifth spot on the list. Juventus, who haven’t won the UCL since 1996, finished sixth, while Chelsea and Man City were tied for the seventh spot. Manchester United finished 9th while Arsenal made up the top 10.
