Cristiano Ronaldo hit 250 million followers on Instagram and also Passes Pele To Become Second-highest Goalscorer Of All-time For Club And Country

The Juventus and Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo has pipped Pele in the all-time list to become the second-highest goalscorer ever with his double against Udinese.

Pele managed a staggering record of 757 official goals during his stellar career between 1956 and 1977 for Santos, New York Cosmos and Brazil.

Ronaldo,scored twice his 757th and 758th goal of his illustrious career in the 4-1 win for his club to keep the pressure on the top four in Serie A.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is now just one goal behind Josef Bican’s incredible tally of 759 from 1931 to 1955 – so will be looking to move clear as the ultimate No1 with games against AC Milan and Sassuolo in the next week.

The goals have been for Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Juventus and 102 on the international stage for Portugal.

Meanwhile, Barcelona and Argentina captain Lionel Messi is behind Ronaldo in the all-time record for club and country with 742 goals

However, Ronaldo has become the most followed person on Instagram with over 250 million followers.

With his new Instagram achievement , Ronaldo is followed behind by popular celebrities, including singer Ariana Grande (214 million followers) and actor and wrestling icon Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson (209 million), who are second and third respectively in terms of followers on Instagram.

The Portuguese footballer is also the highest earner on Instagram through sponsored posts. As per reports, Ronaldo earns between USD 466,000 and USD 777,000 for each post on the platform. The 35-year-old reportedly earned USD 47.8 million from paid posts on Instagram in 2020.

The Argentina footballer, Lionel Messi is said to be ranked second among sportspersons on Instagram with 174 million followers.
