Nigeria has Unveiled first indigenous electric car named Hyundai Kona. The car is a product of Stallion Group, was launched at the VON Automobiles Nigeria in Ojo, Lagos State where the car was manufactured.
The new Kona, an Electric car is regarded in European motoring industry as the world’s number one, with the cost, put at about N24 million.
Hyundai Kona is 100 percent electric and comes with zero emission, 482km driving range, and can be charged both at home and workplace.
The vehicle, when fully charged for 9hrs 35mins, can go a distance of 482km (equivalent of Lagos to Warri), before it requires charging again.
Its power packed performance will provide a thrilling driving experience with high acceleration over long distances. Driving range for Kona Electric is 482 km with an acceleration of (0-100kms) in 9.7 secs.
Hyundai Kona electric car comes with a 5 years of battery warranty and 5 years of vehicle warranty.

The Managing Director, VON Automobiles, Mr Rohtagi Manish, while explaining the essence of the launch, pointed out that Kona will change things positively in the Nigerian auto market.
This is 21st Century technology that has been brought into Nigeria. With an innovation of Hyundai Kona, Nigerians do not need to put the pressure on what is the pump price of oil again, what is the pump price of petroleum again.
