Lionel Messi becomes football’s second billionaire; Ronaldo, Neymar Top 2020 Forbes List of Highest-Paid football Players 2020

The Argentine and Barcelona star,Lionel Messi has join the league of billionaire after Cristiano Ronaldo previously achieved the feat back in June through football.

Messi brought in $92 million in salary and $34 million in endorsements.

Forbes report that, the Argentine has now earned $1billion in pre-tax earnings during his career, making him the highest-earning player in 2020.

According to the magazine, Messi is set to earn a whopping $126million (salary of $92million plus $34million in endorsements).

Argentina international has endorsement deals with Adidas, Pepsi, Budweiser, and AI-vision company OrCam Technologies.

Ronaldo is in second place on Forbes’ list with the Juventus attacker on course to earn $117million. The Portuguese striker who is the most popular athlete in the world has deals with companies like Nike and Herbalife many more.

In third is Paris Saint-Germain winger Neymar, who is set to earn $96million. The Brazil international recently switched to Puma after his deal with Nike came to an end.

Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo ($117 million), Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar ($96 million) and Kylian Mbappe ($42 million), Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah ($37 million), Manchester United’s Paul Pogba ($34 million), Barcelona’s Antoine Griezmann ($33 million), Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale ($29 million), Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski ($28 million) and Manchester United’s David De Gea ($27 million).

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is the only African player who features and is expected to earn around $37 million
