The Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos has added almost $35 billion to his net worth is on track to be the world’s first Trillionaire by 2026.
During to Covid-19 the company saw a “major surge” in demand per its first-quarter earnings call.
Jeff Bezos is now worth $150 billion, as he has seen a net worth increase of almost $35 billion since the start of the year, according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
He is currently $35 billion ahead of the next-richest person in the world, Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
The company’s stock has hovered above the $2,000 mark through the pandemic, closing at $2,483 on Friday. Bezos is the firm’s biggest insider shareholder, with more than 55 million shares
Software research concluded that Bezos – who is estimated to be worth over $150bn (£112bn) – could become the world’s first trillionaire in 2026, at which point he will be 62.
Forecasts from research believe that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg could become the youngest trillionaire in the world 10 years later in 2036, when he will be 51 years old.
