UK prime minister Boris Johnson,Health Secretary Matt Hancock tests positive for coronavirus

United Kingdom prime minister, Boris Johnson became the first world leader to test positive for coronavirus.

The British PM spokesperson announced in a statement that Mr.Johnson tested positive for coronavirus ‘after experiencing mild symptoms yesterday.

Britain’s leader, 55, said he developed mild symptoms over the last 24 hours, I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus.

Also,UK Health Secretary, Matt Hancock has tested positive for coronavirus, just hours after Prime minister Boris Johnson announced he had also contracted COVID-19.


He wrote on Twitter: Following medical advice, I was advised to test for #Coronavirus. I‘ve tested positive. Thankfully my symptoms are mild and I’m working from home & self-isolating.

However, the United States is becoming the new epicenter of the global outbreak and now leads the world in confirmed cases after surpassing China’s reported total.

More than 127,000 people worldwide have recovered from COVID-19, while more than 25,000 people have died, including 1,288 in the US. Italy has the highest death toll with more than 8,200 deaths.
