Tekashi 6ix9ine attorney asks for Rapper early release from prison due to coronavirus
Tekashi 6ix9ine is desperate to leave prison as his attorney, Lance Lazzaro, has written a letter to the judge citing serious concerns for Tekashi’s wellbeing behind bars.
Tekashi has only a few months left of his 24-month sentence but Lazzaro says Tekashi can’t risk staying locked up any longer as his life is on the line.
Tekashi 6ix9ine originally faced a 37 year sentence on racketeering and other charges, which was reduced in December to two years.
The 23-year-old, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, pleaded guilty to racketeering and other offences in New York.
The rapper lawyer said that his client has recently had shortness of breath, but prison officials won’t let him see a doctor.
The rapper is serving time on nine counts of federal charges, has reveals diagnosed with bronchitis and sinusitis late last year and was hospitalized for treatment.
The offences 6ix9ine was charged with include racketeering, carrying a firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy murder charges.
