Rangers striker, Ifeanyi George, 2 other players killed in ghastly motor accident along Onitsha-Agbor-Benin road
Enugu Rangers FC forward Ifeanyi George has been confirmed dead after he was killed in a car crash while returning to his base on Sunday.
The ex-Enyimba of Aba striker were said to be en route to Lagos for the break when they met their untimely death at vehicle crushed into a left enunciated vehicle along Onitsha-Agbor-Benin road
Following the suspension of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2019/20 season amid the coronavirus pandemic on Wednesday, all club sides had released their players to go home.
Rangers team manager, Amobi Ezeaku confirmed the sad news to TheCable, saying: “It is a black Sunday in Nigerian football and sad to say the least.”
“Yes, its true that Ifeanyi George died on the spot but will confirm others to you as I am on my way to the scene of the accident,”
George, alongside two unidentified team mates, died on the spot of the accident.
The 26 years Ifeanyi George made his international debut for Nigeria in 2017 against Benin and made two international caps.
