A Coronavirus patient has died in the United States, being the first in the country.
US President Donald Trump described the woman that died on Saturday as being in her late 50s “wonderful woman” and a “medically high-risk patient.
The deceased lived in King County, which includes Seattle, according to the Washington Department of Health, KIRO 7.
Vice President Pence said the existing travel ban on Iran would extend to foreign nationals who had been in that country the past 14 days.
“We want to lower the amount of travel to and from the most impacted areas,” said Alex Azar, the secretary of health and human Services.
President Trump had said, healthy Americans should be able to recover if they contract the new virus. He said, the virus threat has spooked global markets and the public at large.
The State Department also is increasing its warning advising Americans not to travel to parts of Italy and South Korea affected by the virus.
Washington state announced that a high school student in Snohomish County, just north of Seattle, tested positive for the virus and was in home isolation in a suspected community transmission case.
One of the infections there involves a female health-care worker in her 40s .State health officials said. She has no known recent travel outside the United States.
The total number of infections contracted in the United States to 22…..There are 85,406 cases in 60 other countries, with 2,924 deaths.
Trump said that “there’s no reason to panic at all.”
