Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi suspended for six months

The Oluwo of Iwo, Osun state, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, has been suspended for six months following his alleged attack on the Agbowu of Ogbagbaa, Oba Dhirulahi Akinropo during a peace meeting to resolve a land dispute among monarchs on February 14th by the Osun State Traditional Rulers’ Council.

The emergency meeting which was presided over by Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi held at Osun State Government Secretariat, Abere.

According to source, part of the reasons for suspending Oluwo was his alleged disrespect for Alaafin of Oyo, Alake of Egbaland and Ooni of Ife.

The Oluwo of Iwo was recently accused of punching the Agbowu of Ogbaagba, Oba Dhikrulahi Akinropo, during a peace meeting at the office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 11, Bashir Makama, last week in Osogbo.
