The political crisis rocking godfather and National Chairman of the APC and former governor of the Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole and godson the incumbent governor of the state, Godwin Obaseki, have been at loggerheads for many months over who will control the affairs of the state chapter of their party.
The governor had earlier accused Oshiomhole of plotting to plunge the state into crisis, asking the IGP to call him (Oshiomhole) to order and vowed to deal with National Chairman if he keeps disrupting activities of Edo APC.
With current situation at hand, Godwin Obaseki, has called for the arrest of Oshiomhole in a petition submitted to the Inspector-General of Police and Director-General of the Department of State Services by the Edo State deputy governor, Philip Shuaibu, today Monday, February 3rd.
The petition claimed that the APC National Chairman had consistently breached the peace of Edo State by ignoring lawful orders of constituted authorities.
Obaseki said his administration had banned political rallies in the state but Oshiomole has repeatedly flouted the ban and organized political rallies.
