Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammad Abdulkadir has reacted to the Supreme Court judgement which affirmed his victory in the 2019 governorship election in Bauchi state.
The Governor who was speaking in Bauchi on Tuesday while interacting Journalists and other stakeholders on his arrival from Abuja disclosed that he had fears of being sacked just like Emeka Ihedioha by the supreme court.
He added that his fear was heightened by the confidence his opponents showed before the court judgement.
He said, the Supreme Court Judgement that sacked Emeka Ihedioha as the Governor of Imo State last week unsettled him making him have a negative thought that the same fate may come his way adding quickly however that his faith in Allah was immediately rekindled by the people around him.
Bala Mohammed said that “The Imo incident is one of such incidents that is a manifestation of a judicial process. It was a very painful outcome for me as a PDP member and as a friend to the former governor who was affected. It was something unexpected and I knew what happened to him could happen to anybody”.
The Governor added that “Certainly, it gave me some fears for the first time, thinking that maybe, the confidence expressed by my competitors had something to do with some assurances in some quarters somewhere, but I still had faith in God.”
Recalled that the Supreme Court had, on Tuesday (January 14), nullified the election of Ihedioha and returned Hope Uzodinma of All Progressives Congress as the duly elected governor of Imo State.
Bala Mohammad, who commended his legal team and the people of Bauchi state that stood by him from the beginning to an end, said the victory was for everyone lover of Bauchi state assuring that with the legal battle now ended his administration will increase the speed of the development efforts of the state.
