15,000 newly constructed Diriyah Arena to watch Joshua, as Andy Ruiz Jr vows to beat Anthony Joshua

The highly anticipated rematch for the unified world heavyweight between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr newly constructed Diriyah Arena match room is all set and ready for action in what’s sure to be a memorable night of boxing.

Briton Joshua is seeking to regain the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles after June’s shock defeat by Ruiz in New York.

The custom 15,000-seat arena’s backdrop features a beautiful view of the Riyadh skyline.

The 10,000 square metre site has had up to 175 staff working on it during the construction phase with 350,000 different fixings set up ready for fight night.

Joshua visited the venue after landing in Saudi Arabia on Saturday ….. also the Mexican Ruiz Jr was all smiles as he made his way through the terminal building as he now steps up his preparations ahead of the fight on December 7.

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn said: “The arena and site are utterly breath-taking, with a theme park and concert the night before as well.

“It’s like nothing we’ve seen before in boxing. The Clash On The Dunes will be a night to remember. We can’t wait.”

The war of words between the pair has already start with Ruiz Jr claiming this week Joshua’s decision to lose weight ahead of their rematch could be a mistake.
