The 50-year-old Former Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher is reportedly “conscious” after stem-cell treatment and has been visited by former Ferrari boss Jean Todt at the Paris hospital
The seven-time world champion suffered brain damage- has being in a coma for nearly 6 years. The former Ferrari driver experienced a horrific accident whilst he was skiing with his, then, 14-year-old son. Following a head-collision with a piece of rock.
According to Le Parisien, a member of staff at the hospital in Paris was overheard telling a colleague about Schumacher, “Yes, he’s in my department. And I can assure you that he’s conscious.”
His health has improved significantly since he emerged from an induced coma.
And he will now undergo surgery carried out by Professor Philippe Menasche, a cardiac surgeon specialising in stem cell research.
FIA president Jean Todt was reportedly seen leaving the hospital on Monday afternoon after visiting Schumacher for 45 minutes but Todt also refused to comment about Schumacher’s state upon leaving the hospital.
Suchmacher’s son Mick was in Chatres, just south of Paris where he attended the funeral of Formula 2 racer Anthoine Hubert, who was killed in a crash at the Belgian Grand Prix
