Donald Trump to honour Tiger Woods with Presidential Medal of Freedom
The American Golf champion,Tiger Woods will be honoured by the president of the United states, Donald Trump with Presidential Medal of Freedom, Monday at the White House.
press secretary Sarah Sanders in a tweet, said that Woods, who won his fifth Masters title last month, will receive the nation’s highest civilian honor next Monday during an invitation-only ceremony.
The Medal of Freedom recognizes individuals who have made “an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors,” according to the executive order designating the award.
Woods will join Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Charlie Sifford as golfers who have received the award.
Trump a few weeks ago watched in awe as Woods won his 15th major championship at Augusta National, Woods overcame persistent injury problems to win his first major title for 11 years with a one-shot victory.
