Mavin Records, one of the leading music labels in Nigeria is celebrating its 7th year anniversary today, May 8, 2019.
Despite the recent exit of some of the labels big names in the last six months including Reekado Banks and Tiwa Savage, the label boss, Don Jazzy says ‘all is in order’.
The Nigerian label was founded by renowned record producer, Don Jazzy who took to his Instagram account to thank his followers for the support which has played a role in helping the music label grow in leaps and bounds.
He said, We will like to say a big thank you to all our fans and business partners for the love and support through the years. Mavin is 7 today and I am sooooo proud of what we have been able to achieve. GOD has been faithful. We had some down times but I will be lying if I tell you I didn’t learn a lot from those times.
Those down times made me and the team stronger and wiser than ever. I love and believe so much in my team. That been said, by the power vested in me, with so much fire in my belly, on behalf of the SUPREME MAVIN DYNASTY I say to every Mavin out there that #AllisInOrder
The record label was established on May 8, 2012 following the closure of Mo’ Hits Records, a record label owned by the aforementioned producer and D’banj.
It is home to the likes of Korede Bello, Aphrodija, Dr Sid, D’Prince, DNA Twins, Johnny Drille, Rema and Poe.
Tiwa Savage, a gifted Nigerian songstress, recently left the music label and signed with Universal Music Group (UMG), a US global music corporation, which boasts of artistes like Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga.
