Eddie Murphy made a guest appearance on The Arsenio Hall Show last night. The ‘Coming to America’ stars chatted about whether or not the film would have a sequel.
During an appearance on The Arsenio Hall show, the 52-year-old actor and his former co-star explained through giggles that the obstacles that stood in the way of a sequel were in fact legal ones.
In the original Coming to America, Arsenio Hall played the role: Semmi, Morris, the unattractive girl, and Reverend Brown. Eddie Murphy played: Prince Akeem, a fictional African nation, who grows weary of his pampered lifestyle and decides to find a bride in United States of America – New York’s Queens neighborhood, with his best friend and personal aide, Semmi .
The movie was nominated for two Academy Awards: Best Costume Design (by Deborah Nadoolman) and Best Makeup (Rich Baker)
