The deadly, monster EF-4 tornado ripped through a rural Alabama community killing 23 people, but surprisingly, nothing happened to the prayer closet within the house.
Chaplain Jason Smith with Billy Graham’s Rapid Response team said one family survived by staying in the closet, the only part of the house still standing in a facebook post.
Smith was amazed by what he found there, so he opened up to the world about the story to offer some motivation. Also, the pictures he shared from that house have circulated around the web. Smith went with the post with two photographs that demonstrate the home with nothing left except for two partial walls of the closet.
Jason Smith serves as a chaplain with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team, and he went to the tornado zone to minister to survivors. But what he spotted there ministered to him – a piece of slab left from a home that had been demolished by the storm,
Catastrophic events like this can be devastating and hard to come to grips with, but one eyewitness says this proves God’s power to protect.
