Champions League: Juventus v Atletico Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo faces disciplinary hearing over goal celebration

Portugal and Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo who is the greatest header in the history of football with an extraordinary range, is facing disciplinary action for his celebration after one of the three goals he scored in last week’s 3-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

After scoring the decisive penalty four minutes from time,Ronaldo turned towards the Atletico fans and recreated Simeone’s motion after the Spaniards’ 2-0 first leg win by getting a handle on his private parts and pushing out his crotch

The sport broadcasting said, UEFA on Monday opened an investigation into Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal celebration after scoring a hat-trick in Juventus’ Champions League comeback win against Atletico Madrid last week.

Uefa said the Portuguese would face a hearing on Thursday (March 21) for “improper conduct” during the last-16 second leg match, where Juventus completed a 3-2 aggregate win.

Juventus take on Dutch club Ajax in the Champions League quarter-finals over two legs, on April 10 in Amsterdam and April 16 in Turin.

Five-time Champions League winner Ronaldo made a similar gesture to Atletico coach Diego Simeone, who celebrated his team’s opening goal in the first leg by turning to the crowd and putting his hands on his trousers.

Atletico Madrid coach Simeone was fined 20,000 euros for the episode yet got away from a touchline ban for the return match. Juventus face Ajax Amsterdam in their quarter-final.
