Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman denies £3.8bn Manchester United takeover bid
The Saudi Crown Prince and deputy prime minister, Mohammed Bin Salman has denied the widely speculated reports linking him with a £3.8bn deal to buy English Premier League (EPL) clubside Manchester United, the kingdom’s media minister said on Monday.
On Sunday, the British newspaper, said the crown prince was in a £3.8-billion ($4.9-billion) take-over bid for one of football’s most popular clubs.
In a statement through his media minister, Turki al-Shabanah, he said the reports linking the HRH the Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman intends on buying Manchester United are completely false,”
The minister, Turki al-Shabanah, added that there had only been a meeting with the Saudi wealth fund regarding sponsorship. “Manchester United held a meeting with PIF Saudi to discuss (a) sponsorship opportunity,” Shabanah said, adding that no deal materialised.
