Liverpool trash Bournemouth 4-0 Salah refuses Man of the Match award, gives it to Milner after scoring Hat-trick
Mohamed Salah the star of the show with a hat-trick as Liverpool thrashed Bournemouth 4-0 away from home to go top of the Premier League for at least a few hours.
The Egyptian star bagged a brilliant hat-trick at the Vitality Stadium to take Liverpool to the top of the table, although he was voted the Man of the Match, Salah wouldn’t take it off James Milner.
Jurgen Klopp’s defeated Eddie Howe’s men 4-0 at Dean Court and Salah registered a treble to become the first Liverpool player to score a Premier League away hat-trick since Luis Suarez in March 2014.
Instead, in his post-match interview with Sky Sports after the 4-0 win, he told his captain to keep the award to mark his 500th Premier League appearance.
The 26-year-old stated that he understands much is expected of him, just as he sets a high standard for himself.
My expectation is very high. But I know everyone else’s expectation for me is very high. As I said before, the most important thing, we are top of the table and we win each game.
He has 10 Premier League goals to his name. More than Harry Kane or Sergio Aguero, Eden Hazard or Raheem Sterling. He’s the division’s top scorer, along with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Since the start of last season, only Lionel Messi has scored more across Europe’s top five leagues.
