Nicki Minaj’s new man, Kevin Petty’s Kenneth was convicted of rape in the 1st degree back in 1995.
Nicki went public with her new romance over the weekend. It is unclear when the rapper and the ex con’s paths crossed. The pair celebrated her 36th birthday on holiday this weekend.
Their meeting allegedly prompted his girlfriend to break things off with him via text because she suspected he was using Nicki. The chick even DM’d Nicki with supposed text messages from her ex that say he’s using her.
It was reported that Petty was convicted of 1st-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl in 1995. depicts the claim of innocent as reported by his attorney.
In addition to the rape charges, Petty also served time for killing a man, according to The Blast.
Court records obtained by The Blast reveal Petty pled guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the shooting death of a man named Lamont Robinson.
The complaint claims that on April 27, 2002 at 12:30 AM, Petty shot Robinson multiple times. Robinson was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Authorities originally charged Petty with 2nd-degree murder, but his lawyer got the charge reduced to manslaughter in a plea deal.
Petty pled guilty to the manslaughter charge in exchange for a 10 year prison sentence in March 2006. He was released from prison in May 2013 after serving 7 years. He was on supervised parole for 5 years, until May of this year.
