Real Madrid have appointed Santiago Solari as head coach on a permanent basis, after Julen Lopetegui was sacked after the 5-1 Clasico defeat at Barcelona in October.
The Argentine, who won two La Liga titles and the 2002 Champions League as a player with Los Blancos, has won all four of his fixtures as manager since taking over as interim boss on 29 October.
Solari had been in caretaker charge following the departure of Julen Lopetegui, has since overseen four consecutive wins.
The club made the news on their Twitter page, writing: ‘Santiago Solari, coach of the first team @RealMadrid until June 30th, 2021.#HalaMadrid.’
Madrid currently sit in sixth place in La Liga on 20 points after 12 games – four points adrift of leaders Barcelona.
