Own goal seals famous Manchester United comeback win after Juventus lost 2-1
Juventus player, Cristiano Ronaldo did well to place his team ahead in the 65th minute volley but the spell was broken with Juan Mata free-kick which saw United equalize in the 86th minute.
United got the 2-1 win Wednesday night with Bonnucci own goal when it looked like they couldn’t really do much of anything right and delayed Juve’s celebrations when it came to advancing to the Champions League Round of 16.
Juventus attempted 23 total shots against Manchester United on Wednesday night but United’s very talented and very good goalkeeper, David De Gea, had to make all saves the entire night.
Despite Juve suffering their first defeat of the season, Ronaldo was more worried with the tactics deployed by his former side as the Premier League giants recorded a much needed win
In an interview with Viasport, Ronaldo said, “I was happy with the goal but we are disappointed because we should win the game easily, by three or four goals.
“Manchester didn’t do much, they created two chances from set pieces. English teams are always looking for set pieces.”
“But we will learn from our mistakes and we are still top of the group and we are good. It is too early. We have to take it step by step.
“We are a good team but it is a long way to the final. These people and the club dream of winning the Champions League but we take it step by step.”
