Neymar becomes highest-scoring Brazilian in Champions League history after netting his 31st goals for PSG’s win over Liverpool

The PSG and Brazilian striker, Neymar Jr  31st Champions League goal, moving him clear of Kaka as the most prolific Brazilian in the competition’s history.

Neymar is the top scoring Brazilian (31) in Champions League history follow by Kaká (30), Rivaldo (27),Ronaldinho (18),Ronaldo (14),Adriano (14)

The 26-year-old had drawn level with the previous 30 goals record set by AC Milan legend Kaka last month when he scored a hat-trick in PSG’s 6-1 demolition of Red Star Belgrade in Serbia.

The former Santos star had opened his scoring in the Champions League way back in the 2013-14 season with Barcelona, by notching up a hat-trick against Celtic in a group stage fixture.

The former Barcelona star achieved the landmark in the 36th minute for Paris Saint-Germain against Liverpool at Parc des Princes on Wednesday night.

Neymar started for PSG in this crucial fixture, despite not being 100% fit, he told L’Equipe after the match.

The goal facing Liverpool in their Champions League group stage fixture at Parc des Princes also saw the Brazilian footballer become the 20th player to reach 30 goals in Europe’s premier club competition.
