Alex Iwobi Can Lead Arsenal To Premier League Top Four Finish

Nigeria star Alex Iwobi has been a breath of fresh air for Arsenal so far in 2018/19. The Gunners star has found himself in the starting line-up on a regular basis under Unai Emery and he will be central to Arsenal’s top four aspirations. At the time of writing, the north London outfit are fourth in the top-flight table, one point clear of arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur and just four behind defending champions Manchester City.

Arsenal have failed to qualify for the Champions League in each of the last two seasons but Emery’s side look primed to regain a place in Europe’s elite club competition. The Gunners are currently on a 13-game unbeaten run and Iwobi has played a pivotal role for the north London side during that spell. He has been directly involved in four goals in 12 competitive appearances for Arsenal in 2018/19 and he is only going to get better.

At just 22 years old, Iwobi is blossoming into a top-class footballer. With bags of potential and a hunger to succeed on the big stage, the Nigerian ticks all the right boxes to enjoy a long and successful career at the Emirates Stadium. Iwobi isn’t the finished article just yet but you won’t find too many Gunners fans writing the youngster off. A bright and exciting future awaits for Nigeria’s top prospect.

Iwobi is linking up well with Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the Arsenal attack and Gunners fans are excited at what the future holds for these three players. Emery’s long-term target will be to win the Premier League title and a front three of Iwobi, Lacazette and Aubameyang could be strong enough to lay down a serious challenge in England’s top flight in the coming years.

Arsenal are 11/8 in Premier League betting for a top four finish this campaign and Iwobi’s form will be key in the second half of the campaign. Still a relatively unknown quantity in terms of the Premier League, Iwobi is still maturing and the Nigerian will be looking to shine during the busy festive period. Stamina won’t be an issue for Iwobi; he is one of the fittest footballers in the Gunners squad.

Defensively, Arsenal can still be found wanting but Emery has improved that particular area of the field to a certain extent. The Gunners were shipping goals away from home last season but Arsenal have regained that winning feeling under Emery and it is hard to back against the north London outfit at this moment in time. Emery’s mindset has worked wonders for Arsenal and Iwobi is one of the main beneficiaries.

Alex Iwobi is living up to the hype in 2018/19 and he could compete for the Premier League Young Player of the Year award on current form. The Nigeria star appears to be relishing his current role under Unai Emery and he could be one of Arsenal’s main men for the next decade or so. Write Iwobi off at your peril; he has the skillset to lead the Gunners back to the Champions League this season.
