Thierry Henry’s First game As Monaco Manager Ends In Defeat 2-1 at Strasbourg

Last week, the French club Manaco appoint the Arsenal legend Thierry Henry after the sacking of former boss Leonardo Jardim.

The 41-year-old Frenchman first game as a manager ended in defeat as his Monaco side were beaten 2-1 at Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

The former France and Arsenal star Henry, who began his playing career at Monaco and helped them win Ligue 1 in 1997, was assistant manager of Belgium before joining the eight-time French champions.

Monaco are now sitting firmly in the relegation zone and have only six points from their opening ten matches, suffering six defeats and winning only once in Ligue 1 this season.

Monaco’s task was made harder when Samuel Grandsir saw red for a high foot, before Strasbourg substitute Lebo Mothiba made it two for the home side, just two minutes after coming on.
