Kanye West and his wife, Kim Kardashian met with the President of Uganda, Yoweri K Museveni, during their trip to Africa. The President tweeted.
“I welcome American entertainment stars Kanye West and @KimKardashian to Uganda. I held fruitful discussions with the duo on how to promote Uganda’s tourism and the arts.”
The president also shared photos from the meeting where he’s greeting the couple, posing with the sneakers and having discussions in an ornately decorated room.
“I thank Kanye for the gift of white sneakers. Enjoy your time in Uganda. It is the true pearl of Africa.”
Yoweri Museveni, who owns a large livestock farm, reportedly donated 10 cows and a copy of his book “Sowing the Mustard Seed” to the couple. In return, Kanye West gave a pair of his Yeezy boost sneakers to the President.
During the visit, the president cracked a joke with the singer, telling him:
I am also a rapper. If you want help on your album, I am always here to help.
Kanye is in Africa working on his next album. Big Sean’s there too. They’ll be producing music and shooting some videos during the trip.
