German centre-back Rudiger has called out the trio Alvaro Morata, Olivier Giroud and Willian,to start scoring more goals to relieve the pressure on Hazard’s shoulders after Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
The 27-year-old Belgium international Eden Hazard has scored seven goals already for the Blues, a goal every 74 minutes – but there are worries that the club are growing too reliant on the brilliant Belgian.
Hazard is playing a major role under Maurizio Sarri since joining the club in the summer, as Giroud has yet to score this season, while Morata hasn’t found the back of the net since the second game of the campaign.
Antonio Rudiger said to his teammate “We need to learn to kill matches. It’s not only on Eden’s shoulders.“We need the other players to help him with scoring.
At the end of the day the best scorers are Hazard and Pedro, but with the quality of players we have on the pitch, it’s (the lack of goals from elsewhere) not too good.”
He has been doing his job very well again, but the other guys must score too – Giroud, Morata, Willian have to score. “As a team all of us have to provide more goals, the defenders as well.
Pedro is the club’s next top scorer with just three, whilst Willian, Morata and Giroud have a combined three goals between them.
