The quest of Akinwunmi Ambode to win a second term as Governor of Lagos State now looks more daunting than ever, following the emergence of evidence that Bola Tinubu, has endorsed Jide Sanwonolu, who served as a commissioner in the Babatunde Fashola regime and is currently the Managing Director of Lagos State Property Development Corporation (LSPDC).
The resident of All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Asiwaju Bola in Bourdillon, Ikoyi area of Lagos state where stormed by supporters of governor Akinwunmi Ambode on a peaceful demonstration.
The supporters were seen holding placards as they showed their support for governor Ambode following the political rift between him and his godfather, Tinubu who endorsed another candidate in the party.
Tight security operatives who stood at the gate of the APC Chieftain, seemed to have everything under control as the peaceful solidarity rally was going on.
The Lagos APC governorship primary election has been slated for Tuesday, October 2, after three previous postponements.
Source earlier revealed that president Buhari call for meeting after Ambode’s press conference on Sunday. As leader of the party, he is worried about a possible implosion of the APC in Lagos and he was quite disturbed by some of Ambode’s allegations during his press conference”.
Buhari’s meeting with Akande and Tinubu dwelt extensively on the “Lagos primaries. Abuja is worried by the decision of Ambode to go dirty and to drag his party in the mud”.about Sanwoolu, a recovering drug addict, a misfit for the office of governor and a phony who was arrested for splashing fake dollars at a night club in the United States.
