Nelly Sexual Assault Lawsuit Dismissed and settled

The lawsuit accusing Nelly of sexual assault has been dismissed, Nelly has mutually settled with the woman who claimed he raped her on a tour bus.

“Both Parties have mutually agreed to drop the lawsuit,” Nelly’s attorney said “No settlement or money changed hands.”

The assault accusation dates to October 2017, when a college student named Monique Greene said she’d met Nelly and his entourage after a concert with Florida Georgia Line in Seattle.

She says after the show she was drinking and hanging out with Nelly, who invited her on his tour bus.

She claims once on the bus he assaulted her and had both oral and vaginal sex against her will.

Afterward, Greene says she screamed she wanted off the bus and she was thrown off as Nelly threw a $100 bill at her and said, “Bye Bye.”

Though Nelly was arrested last October, Greene decided to stop cooperating with prosecutors and the rape charge was dropped. In a letter last year, Greene’s attorney wrote that her client felt unable to handle the pressure of public harassment and that “she believes the system is going to fail her.”

Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., counter-sued Greene for defamation after she sued him for sexual assault and defamation.

Court records, the lawsuit was dismissed earlier this week with prejudice, meaning Nelly’s accuser, Monique Greene, cannot re-file the case at a later date.
