A source in the presidency disclosed Minister of Fiance, Kemi Adeosun, has reportedly resigned her appointment
The resignation letter was tender to the office of the president on Thursday, September 14, 2018.It is not clear yet if her resignation is connected to her forged allegations surrounding her National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, certificate emerged.
Recall that in July, Premiumtimes had reported that she never tookpart in the mandatory One year NYSC scheme, a prerequisite to picking any job in the federal service.
In July, NYSC promised to investigate the origin of the purported exemption certificate but no update has been provided after several weeks.
The source in the presidency said Adeosun felt that her position is becoming untenable and is hurting the President in the run up to the 2019 election.
Despite the public pressure on Buhari to fire the minister or, at least, acknowledge the situation, he has not said anything about the controversy which first surfaced two months ago.
Adeosun had come under fire with several Nigerians, particularly on the social media, demanding investigations from the Federal Government into the allegations and calling for her resignation for presenting an alleged forged exemption certificate.
