At a campaign fundraiser for his 2020 re-election at one of his hotels,U.S. President Donald Trump is understood to have charged people $70,000 to have a photo with him.
Washington Post White House reporter Josh Dawsey revealed that some of the prices for attendance and some of the perks are so outrageous that they might actually make you puke:
Guests could attend a private roundtable with the President of the United States for $100,000. But for those who only wanted dinner at the event at the Trump International Hotel in Washington DC on Wednesday night, it was reduced to $35,000 to £27,000.
The money will go towards Trump Victory, a joint fundraising committee for the president’s 2020 presidential campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC).
What a dinner that costs $35,000 would actually look like and contain. I don’t even know what the most expensive food in the world is but maybe like some Wagyu beef and caviar and some weird truffle or something? Probably just a KFC meal you’re required eat with a knife and fork knowing Trump.
Josh Dawsey tweeted a photo of the event invitation which highlighted the large costs. The money will go towards Trump Victory, a joint fundraising committee for the president’s 2020 presidential campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC).
In 2016, then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton charged at least $100,000 per head for a fundraising dinner in Nebraska. Former President Obama in 2012 headlined fundraising events that cost upwards of $35,800 per person.
