Real Madrid want Hugo Lloris to shun De Gea, Courtois for goalkeeper
The European champions Real Madrid plotting a move for Hugo Lloris,France’s World Cup-winning captain as a replacement for Keylor Navas.
Thibaut Courtois has been a long-standing target for Los Blancos, but new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is hoping to hold talks with the Belgian international to persuade him to stay at Stamford Bridge.
Real were also long-term admirers in David de Gea, but the Spaniard signed a new five-year deal with Manchester United last month.
Lloris has four years to run on his Tottenham deal and Real know it would take monster offers to the club and the player to get a deal done.
Lloris is believed to be open to a move to Spain, but would not try to force his way out of North London.
Lloris has made 254 appearances for Spurs since his £12m move from Lyon in 2012.
He lifted the World Cup with France and had a solid tournament despite a blunder which gifted Croatia their second goal in Les Bleus’ 4-2 final win.
The sun reports, suggests the 31-year-old has spoken to friends about life in La Liga and is open to a move to the Bernabeu.
But with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy notoriously a tough negotiator, it is suggested he could demand close to the world-record for a shot-stopper (£66.8million) Liverpool paid to sign Alisson last week.
