Marcelo,Toni Kross, others write emotional farewell message to Cristiano Ronaldo

The all time Champions League highest goals scorer Cristiano Ronaldo is set to join the Serie A champions, after they agreed a stunning €112million deal with Real Madrid on Tuesday.

The Serie A side needed to fork out $140 million to acquire Ronaldo, but no one was expecting him to come cheap. What’s even more impressive about that princely sum is that it means Real has actually made a profit on the player. There are likely not many soccer stars who can say that their valuation has gone up after nine seasons, especially at the age of 33.

During Ronaldo’s time with Real, he has managed to find the back of the net an incredible 451 times in his 438 appearances. Averaging more than a goal a game is something you don’t see in present-day soccer and is pretty much reserved for just him and Lionel Messi. Those 451 goals have helped Ronaldo and Real win four Champions League titles, two La Liga crowns, and two Copa Del Reys in the nine years that he has been with the club.

Real Madrid’s Player and assistant captain, Marcelo has paid tribute to forward, Cristiano Ronaldo following the move to Juventus this summer.

Marcelo, took to his Twitter page to bid his former teammate farewell.

He wrote: “Who would’ve thought, right Cris? It’s now time to say good-bye…I swear to you that I never imagined this day would come, but nothing in life lasts forever and I hope you get to be very happy in your new adventure.

“We spent almost 10 years together, 10 years of happiness, good football, victories, defeats and wonderful times. I learned a lot from you, your dedication is the strangest thing I ever saw in an athlete.
