The Singer Chris Brown was arrested Thursday night in Florida, where he was performing as part of a nationwide tour.
The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Brown, 29, was arrested at Coral Sky Amphitheatre and booked at 11 p.m. EDT. He was released on a $2,000 cash bond about an hour later.
Police confirmed that there was an arrest warrant issued for Brown in Hillsborough County for a felony battery case.
Police waited for Brown to finish his set at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre before immediately escorting him into a cruiser, TMZ reported.
Brown who has a lengthy legal history, including a domestic violence arrest in 2009 after beating up then-girlfriend Rihanna, a 2013 hit-and-run and a 2016 arrest for assault with a deadly weapon was later released after paying a $2,000 bond, the station said.
Bennie Vines Jr. told Tampa police officers that Brown punched him while he was snapping photos at an event. Brown was gone by the time officers arrived after Brown arrived at the venue for an afterparty “showing.”
Brown had left by the time officers arrived on the scene and the victim declined medical attention, though he suffered a “minor” cut to his lip, according to police. The victim said he intended to prosecute.
The singer has had several run-ins with the law, including physical assault charges following an incident with his then-girlfriend, Rihanna, in 2009.
He was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats in that incident, and received five years probation and community service.
In 2013, Brown and his bodyguard were arrested and charged with felony assault after an alleged altercation outside a hotel in Washington, DC.
The charge was reduced to a misdemeanor in court the next day, and Brown was released from jail without bail.
