Bala Ciroma,replaced Mr Undie Adie as Plateau Police Commissioner

Mr Bala Ciroma,replaced Mr Undie Adie, who was posted to the state late last year as the new Police Commissioner for the Plateau police Command.

Ciroma was before his new position in charge of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID), FTC Command. ASP Terna Tyopev, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Jos.

The Yobe born police officer attended University of Maiduguri and graduated in 1988.

Before his new assignment as commissioner of police in Plateau State, he was deputy commissioner of police, criminal investigation and intelligence department in Abuja.

Mr Ciroma had also served as head of operations, Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) in Abuja.

About 120 people were killed over the weekend in Plateau in violence linked to herdsmen.

Many Nigerians have condemned the security situation in the North-central state.

On Monday, the police and the air force announced the deployment of more personnel and aircraft to the state to prevent further violence.
