Governor Obaseki sacks Commissioner for environment, retires General Manager of Waste Management Board

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has sacked the state’s Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability, Reginald Okun.

The Governor also approved the retirement of the General Manager of Edo State Waste Management Board, Mr. Aiyamenkue Akonofua.

A statement issued on Wednesday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Osarodion Ogie, directed the affected officials to handover immediately to the most senior officials in their office and the redeployment of the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mrs. R. E. Obahiagbon.

The state government, however, thanked the disengaged officials for their services to the state and wished them well in their future endeavours. Although no reason was given for the government’s action
