President Buhari receives the FIFA World Cup trophy in Abuja

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday received the Fifa World Cup trophy after visiting 30 countries since it began its globetrotting journey in January ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The FIFA/Cocacola World Cup Trophy Representative, Christian Kerenbeu and The Fifa delegation which was led by Peter Njonjo, president Coca-Cola West Africa as president Buhari was joined at the event by members of the Federal Executive council.during a reception at the Presidential Banquet Hall, State House, Abuja.

president Buhari said,“I am proud to note that Nigeria is the first African country to qualify for the 2018 Fifa World Cup,”

“The federal government will ensure that necessary support is given to facilitate preparations for successful participation of the Super-Eagles at the World Cup in Russia.”

In the end, it’s safe to say it was a win-win situation for all. Taking a selfie with the World Cup trophy is certainly special.
