The Brazilian striker and Paris Saint-Germain forward, Neymar, has urged UEFA to kick Barcelona out of the Champions League over withheld bonus.
The Spanish publication AS say Neymar’s lawyers advised him to go to UEFA and ask European football’s governing body to ban Barca from the Champions League, after Barca refused and said they were suing Neymar over the bonus he received when he signed a five-year extension the summer before, prompting the Brazilian to issue a lawsuit of his own over the unpaid loyalty bonus.
Neymar left Barca to join the Ligue 1 champions PSG last summer for a world-record £200m fee.
Barcelona have already issued a statement explaining why they do not feel obliged to pay the loyalty bonus, with Neymar’s move to PSG causing three terms to be broken.
Barca spokesperson Josep Vives said at a news conference, that The cheque is no longer with the notary, it’s at the club”
“‘There were three conditions: one, that the player does not negotiate with another club in the last three months before July 31.
The European football governing body UEFA,however, quickly rejected Neymar’s request, that case absolutely no importance
