A 25-year-old high school graduate, Hindatu Umar, who was named as the first female Caretaker Chairman of Argungu Local Government Area in Kebbi State by the Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has resumed duty.
She continued at her office at the Local Government Secretariat on Thursday, after which she paid a politeness visit to the Emir of Argungu HRH Alhaji Samaila Muhammadu Mera at his royal residence in Argungu.
Her appointment sparked reactions among Argungu indigenes. Some are stating why might a lady be selected to lead the Local Government. Others refered to her age, educational capability, and absence of experience.
