|Rotimi Akeredolu wins APC ticket in Ondo state Primary|
Former NBA chairman, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu has emerged the governorship candidate of the APC ahead of the November 26 gubernatorial election in the state
Widely regarded as a formidable politician, Akeredolu won the election without the backing of the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Akeredolu, 60, emerged the APC candidate in a keenly contested election that saw him polled 669 votes defeating 23 other aspirants. There were 2,774 accredited delegates who partook in the voting exercise. Dr Segun Abraham emerged second with a total number of 635 votes.
Popularly called ‘Aketi’ by his admirers, Akeredolu contested under the platform of the APC in 2012 but lost out in the elections to incumbent governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko.
