Jabi District Abuja of the Igbo Community Assembly, recently played host to eminent sons and daughters of the tribe including a Yoruba Oba during the unveiling of its 2017 Almanac and launching of a multi-million Naira endowment fund.

Among those who graced the occasion were the President of Ohaneze FCT, Mazi Odozi Nwodozie, the Ochigbo of Idu Karu, HRH Ezeudo Amb. Jude Ejeofobiri, the Oba Yoruba, Oba Raman Atanda, Mr. Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa aka CharlyBoy the AreaFada, many notable Igbo chiefs, sons and daughters.
The colorful event featured the business of the day, amidst pomp and pageantry with everyone clad in traditional igbo attire, majorly communicating in core gbo dialect; and at a critical point, Dr. Uche Egenti introduced the Njiko Carnival urging all Igbo chiefs present to come out enmasse and support this course.
CharlyBoy further explained the concept of the carnival when he said “the carnival, amongst other benefits, aims at helping to prepare Igbo youths for a better tomorrow through numerous vocations. We also want to put the igbo cultural heritage out there on the world stage in order to further attract development to the region”.
‘Njiko means oneness, unity, togetherness. We should all come together and embrace our rich cultural heritage, It is right about time when our brothers and sisters in Diaspora think about coming home every festive season” the Areafada stressed.
This presentation was greeted with applause by the assembly, everyone giving their nods and endorsements, after which they shared photo opportunities with the Official Face of Njiko Carnival, Mr. Charles Oputa.
