Lagos- The 74-year -old traditional ruler of Iba town in Lagos, Yushau Oseni was abducted at his Iba palace ‎on July 16.

The gunmen are said to have demanded a whooping sum of N500 million as ransom for monarch’s release.

The family of the abducted monarch of Iba town in Lagos, Yushau Oseni, on Friday said it”.

 Mrs Ramota Oseni, One of the king’s daughters,‎ told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the abductors contacted the family on 20.

 Mrs Ramota Oseni who was a former chairperson of Iba Local Government Area, said the family refused to make the abductors’ demand public for security reasons.

Sources close to his palace confirmed  that the family was contacted early on Friday, July 22, but that there is a problem of how to generate such an amount demanded by the abductors.

“I understand a family member was contacted this morning and, but the amount the kidnappers want is something that is out of this world for the family.

 “We are still pleading with them to have a change of heart. This man is old and should not be suffering like this,” the source who is not the official spokesman for the family said.

politicians said,i got the information this morning, but I know that while the security operatives are trying to resolve this, the ransom will be further beaten down because it is just not affordable,” .
