Ooni of Ife married second wife in Benin famous family daugther Wuraola Zainab Obanor

As the people of ife mark another memorable day as the new ooni of ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, yesterday formally took for second wife, Wuraola Zainab Obanor from the well known Igun N’ Eromwon, the Benin Bronze Casters Guild family.

The bright conventional function occurred at the Benin City living arrangement of the bride’s dad, Mr. William Obanor, trailed by a gathering for visitors at the Benin Hotel.

Spoken to by his dad, Omooba Oluropo Ogunwusi, the Ooni paid the lady cost at around 12:30pm after Wuraola was driven out by relatives with music gave by Inneh Theater Troupe.

Prior to the traditional rite of the lady value, the senior sibling of the Ooni, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi, educated the Obanor family why they were in Benin.

He said; “We arrive to request the hand of Zynab. We will be upbeat in the event that you concede us our solicitation.”

Representative for the Obanors, Daniel Inneh, Ex Permanent Secretary, acknowledged the Ooni’s solicitation in the interest of the family.


Wuraola was introduced with move and tunes for the Ooni’s family to affirm her as the lady they came to take.

The conventional arrangement of the spouse on the laps of the Ooni’s dad was performed after the payment of the lady bride price.

Visitors present at the occasion included Chief David Edebiri, the Esogban of Benin; HRH Idu Akenzua, the Enogie of Oghobaghase; HRH Anthony Osagie, the Enogie of Umegbe; HRH Eghosa Aimwansoba, the Enogie of Evbobuike; mother of the Ooni, Madam Margaret Ogunwusi; Alfred Eghobamien; and Chief Kingsley Inneh.

The lady later rode in a cream Limousine to the venue.

chairmn of the occasion of the event and former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Femi Pedro, expressed gratitude toward the visitors for respecting the Ooni’s welcome however said the Ooni was too huge for him to prompt on conjugal issues.

chief John Ihama, the Ihama of Benin Kingdom, was enchanted at the service.

He said: “We are extremely upbeat. We will take it to illustrious home from regal homes too.”

Father of Wuraola, Mr. Williams Obanor, said: “When you have something worth being thankful for in life you should be appreciative to God since this is the work of God. I never imagined that one day I would turn out to be near the Ooni of Ife. Since it has happened, I feel appreciative to God.

“My message for her is that she must be exceptionally well mannered, loyal, understanding, trusting much in God and whatever she needs she will get it. On the off chance that you have any issue with your spouse don’t give a third individual a chance to know about it, go to him and both of you ought to determine the issue together agreeably.
