FORMER Nigeria Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu (rtd), captured over the $2.1bn arms scam, has been discharged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. He was discharged alongside other senior officers associated with the arms trick including previous Chief of Accounts and Budgeting of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal J.B. Adigun, and previous NAF Director of Finance and Budget, Air Commodore O.O. Gbadebo.
The three senior officers, Amosu, Marshal and Gbadebo, a source at the EFCC told Punch, were discharged on authoritative safeguard in light of the fact that EFCC was not prepared to charge them to court.
The source included that “In any case, they have been collaborating with us and we have recuperated (stolen) stores from them. Thus, we have requested that they go to empower them to get more cash. We have discharged them yet we grabbed the travel permits of some of them while others were discharged in view of the validity of their sureties. Likewise, the holding charge we acquired from the court to keep them in authority had passed. The motivation behind why we charged Alex Badeh to court is that he has declined to participate with us. Notwithstanding when we sought his home and discovered $1m, despite everything he prevented the proprietorship from claiming the cash. The individuals why should willing collaborate can be changed over to indictment witnesses subsequent to returning assets. It is the standard practice around the world.”
