UNITED States-based medical practictioner, Dr. Kenneth Oyarebu, has
lauded Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, for his foresight in
crime-fighting, particularly the empowerment of vigilance groups in
parts of the state which, he noted, had drastically reduced incidences
of kidnapping that was at a time a source of worry to residents.
Oyarebu, who gave the commendation while speaking at the
2016 Auchi Day celebration in Auchi, submitted that in the absence of
community policing, equipping the vigilantes was thoughtful.
He said the governor had done so well in the area of
security of lives and property with the introduction of these groups in
Edo North and the provision of patrol vehicles for them to address the
state of insecurity in the communitie
