Robert Lewandowski wins UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award for 2019/20

The Polish international and Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski has been crown UEFA Men’s Player of the Year for 2019/20.

Lewandowski beat off arrival from Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and Bayern team-mate Manuel Neuer to emerged the winner.

The Polish also won forward of the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League season, while Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, was named Midfielder of the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League season.

The Poland striker scored in every game en route to the UEFA Champions League final in Lisbon, picking up 15 goals and six assists as well as the trophy he had coveted for so long. He also hit 34 goals in 31 Bundesliga matches and six in five German Cup games.

Receiving his award on Tuesday in Nyon, Switzerland during the 2020/21 Champions League draw, Lewandowski discussed his best moments of the season. “It’s hard to choose, but the Champions League final, the game against Tottenham and four goals against Red Star Belgrade were great achievements,” said the attacker.

“I have been dreaming about winning the Champions League since I was a child. Now I know that feeling. The whole season was amazing for us,” added Lewandowski.
