Spike Lee, 62 who was with his wife Tonya Lewis Lee, 53 paid tribute to Basketball legend, Kobe Bryant following the helicopter accident that killed the former player, his daughter Gianna, 13, and eight others just over two weeks ago.
The 62 years completed his look with a purple hat, glasses and a pair of Nike Kobe 9 Elite “Strategy” sneakers, one of the many designs to emerge from Bryant’s long-standing collaboration with the brand.
Lee paid tribute by wearing a purple-and-gold Gucci suit marked with the late basketball star’s jersey number 24 to the Oscars Award ceremony.
The legendary director who’s real name is Shelton Jackson had “24” embroidered on his back and across his lapel, while his custom outfit’s colors nodded to the LA Lakers, where Bryant spent his entire professional career.
